Agricultural Remote Sensing Laboratory

Agricultural Remote Sensing Laboratory (TUAL) was established in 2005 within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1001 project. In line with the objectives of identifying problems in agricultural areas and developing innovative solution proposals, using remote sensing, geographic information systems, machine learning and deep learning approaches for the determination of change and dynamism in agricultural areas, water stress monitoring, disease-pest detection, rural planning and development. works are in progress. In addition, multidisciplinary studies are currently being carried out in our laboratory by the Computer-Agriculture-Planning (ComAgPlan) working group, which includes our professors from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Architecture and Design.

One of our laboratory staff, Research Assistant Dr. The project, in which Melis İnalpulat is a regional partner, was deemed worthy of support as one of the 8 projects selected by the NASA earth sciences studies unit. The project, which he will carry out together with researchers from the Universities Space Research Association (USRA) -Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC, NASA), Yale University and the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH), will last for 3 years. The project, which covers Remote Sensing, Land Use and Climate Change, will be carried out in 22 Mediterranean countries, and studies on agricultural variability will be carried out within TUAL.
